How You Can Help

Hazelcroft Rescue is entirely run on a voluntary basis and we rely entirely on donations to fund the purchase of food, bedding, equipment plus the veterinary costs for the guinea pigs we rescue.
There are many different ways you can help the Rescue and the guinea pigs in our care if you'd like to. Any help, however large or small, is very much appreciated. Thank you.

As hay is the most important element of a healthy guinea pig’s diet the rescue gets through a significant amount each year.   Hay            is also used to help keep the guinea pigs warm in winter and for them to play in.

  • You can purchase a Vegetable Voucher:
The guinea pigs in the rescue get a portion of 2-3 different types of fresh vegetables every day to keep them healthy. Given the amount of excited squeaking at vegetable time, it is clearly the most important time of day for most of our residents!

By buying a Vegetable Voucher you are making a very welcome £5 contribution towards the cost of vegetables fed to the rescue guinea pigs.

  • You can donate your unwanted items for our Car Boot Sales:

We hold car boot sales several times a year to raise funds for the rescue and welcome unwanted items which we can sell. We will gladly accept a wide range of things as long as they are in a saleable condition but nothing too large and nothing electrical. If you would like to donate your unwanted items please email us we will arrange collection (if you're in or close to St Albans) or drop off.
